Karina attended the 12th Annual Lupus LA Orange Ball at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Thursday, May 24th.
Karina is proud to lend her support to Lupus LA, a non-profit organization that promotes lupus research, awareness, and education, and serves the needs of people with lupus and their families in Los Angeles County. Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs when your body’s immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. More than 1.5 million Americans have lupus.

Karina joined tens of thousands of people in the Entertainment Industry Foundation's Revlon Run/Walk for Women at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Exposition Park on Saturday, May 12th.
Over 30,000 were on hand for the 19th-annual event to raise funds for breast and ovarian cancer research and treatments.
"I had the honor of running and walking along side of many cancer survivors," Karina said. "It was such an incredible experience to celebrate with these survivors as well as pay respect to those who have lost the battle."

Karina is helping keep America beautiful by teaming up with Keep America Beautiful for The Great American Cleanup, which took place this past weekend around the country.
Karina is involved in many environmental causes. For example, her Los Angeles dance studio is the first LEED certified studio in the country.
"It's so important to have an eco-friendly lifestyle," Karina told SheKnows reporter Meagan Morris. "I'm always open for ways to improve my environmental impact."

Karina performed at the Youth America Grand Prix "Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow" on Friday, April 27th at Lincoln Center. Karina danced with José Manuel Carreño, the acclaimed ballet dancer who has performed as a principal dancer with the English National Ballet, Royal Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. The annual event is known for introducing new dancers, choreographers, and companies and features the performances of international ballet stars.
